The Treasured Child is a unique, independently owned specialty toy store that was founded in 1997 by Trish & Rick Garlock.
La Grange is a small, close-knit town 25 miles northeast of Louisville, Kentucky; that boasts a working railroad down the center of Main Street.
Trish passed away suddenly in May 2007, yet her spirit remains as we follow her philosophy: "Everybody should have toys, regardless of their age."
On March 10, 2008 the business was purchased by one of its employees: Donna Schwedler

If you don't see what you are looking for, special orders are available from certain manufacturers. Check with us for information.
Directions
Visit us in La Grange, Kentucky. Just 20 minutes northeast of Louisville. Take I-71 North to exit 22. Turn left onto Hwy 53. Proceed to the 4-way stop at the RR crossing. Turn right onto Main Street (watch out for trains!) and we are on the right between Loren's Jewelry and the Irish Rover Too.
Layaway
We offer 6 month layaway service for our in-store customers. A deposit of 10% is required at the time of purchase and monthly payments are expected. Layaways with no payments for 6 months will be considered abandoned. Merchandise will be returned to the sales floor and the deposit is forfeited.
